Physical Appearance

Physical Description Tinriss is an average height and build Pernese woman. Even though she thinks her butt is too big. Her height falls to within average standards, not as tall as most men and not as short as the shortest women. She has all the usual curves and bumps that go with womanhood. Her chest is a bit more built up both in breast and pure muscle than others her height. Her butt and thighs, whatever she says, are well within proportions with the rest of her. She has never been ‘thin’ but has managed to avoid fat. Her stomach is not flat for say but at the same time it isn’t plump. She likes her breeches tan, her boots sturdy and her tunics blue.

Tinriss’ facial features dictate a heritage of the more fair skinned colonists. Her hazel eyes are set on a perk little nose with a short chin and soft undefined jaw line. Her cheekbones are set a little lower than some with the same light skin. She also has the freckles to go with her skin tone. From head to toe, she is covered in the tiny dark brown to light cream dots. They especially favor the bridge of her nose and the high spots on either cheek. They run right up into her curly mass of red hair. The red kinks and curls go and do whatever they want to do as long as they don’t block her vision or get into her food. On rare occasion she pulls the red curls into a ponytail or a bun.

Ever heard of too sober? There is drunk and there is sober and then there is Tinriss. Popular theory is that she was born just a little to sober and needs a stiff one just to start her day and be sane. Other theories include her being dropped on her head as a child… When without klah or wine she is in her own little world. If you knock politely she might let you in. When she gets her first cup of one or the other she’s okay. She’s in control and can manage the rest of her day. At least so it seems. She’s really one accident short of banging her head on a desk and crying and one more complaint short of breaking down into giggles. Tinriss doesn’t make friends all to easily, preferring to keep to herself. She used to be a drunk but has since reformed. But every so often, when the hard ships get to her she ends up with one to many drinks. She’s a happy enough drunk, to happy in fact. She’s woken up in some odd positions and in some odd beds before.
Pet(s) Description Elo is the tiny firelizard pet whose egg was a recent gift to Tinriss. The firelizard was expected to hatch out a blue or tiny brown to help Tinriss in getting messages around. But instead out popped the tiny creature that was Elo and far too much egg goop. The firelizard has been growing rather slowly. She hasn’t really gained the weight she was expected to but what she lacks in weight she’ll make up in sheer temper. The tiny lime-green pet is bossy, rude and tends to give the firelizard form of ‘back talk’ to any firelizard foolish enough to cross her. Tinriss is convinced that her firelizard is either out to get herself killed or thinks she’s a tiny gold in a green’s body. The green has learned to take messages about but still has a thing about playing with her food before eating it.

Personality & Traits

Personal History Tinriss isn’t much one for the past. She normally tells stories depending on the latest rumor for her past. A few have included wandering traders, greenriders with butter fingers and even the odd tale of wild canines raising her off in the wilds in the North. Whatever story is currently popular is how Tinriss lets her earliest history flow.

What of her history is known starts when as 14 turn old Mason she showed up for duty in her new home at a Weyr. There the young Mason earned respect to her name for her hard work and quick wit. One day she fell in love with a bluerider. The only problem was he was weyrmated and didn’t even know she existed. One day she made sure he knew she existed. Whatever she did, whatever happened, the young mason was quickly and quietly moved to a Hold who knew nothing of her short of her reputation as a good worker.

For the turn after that Tinriss threw herself into her work. Things got fixed faster than others could break them and so she was always bored. So she moved from one Hold and Weyr to the next, using her reputation to give her the ability to do so. Finally she was forced to settle into a small Cothold. There she stayed and pouted for a while.

Age 18 came, went and said goodbye as age 19 rolled around. Once again Tinriss was struck with love. This time the love was returned and all was well. Till the first time they shared a bed and Tinriss discovered her ‘man’ was a woman. With speed unseen in her in ages she picked up and left for the nearest major Hold.

Tinriss arrived at Fort Hold near the middle of the Turn. The first thing she did was settle into the nearest alehouse and buy the stiffest drink they had. And another. And another. By the time she hit her 5th one and was still standing the ale house workers were in awe. Right up till her seventh one at which point she threw up. She woke up the next morning and vowed to never do something so stupid again.

Fives turns in Fort Hold and everything in both Hold and Weyr were fixed, patched and fixed again if they needed it. Tinriss was getting bored of just fixing things and never getting the chance to build. At age 27 the chance to work on a new small hold in the South came up and once again Tinriss was off.

From here her past once again turns to mystery. She never made it past Ista Island and all but dropped off Pern for close to five Turns. At age 32 the redhead was found drunk in an Alehouse by a mason who once knew her and for the next five turns that’s how she remained; to drunk to remember her own name. She was rarely sober long enough for people to piece together where she went for five Turns or who she was with. It took a Master Healer and two Master Masons to convince the woman to stop drinking. When she did she found herself in a terrible state. With their help she pulled herself from drunk to mason to mason in good standing. And that’s where she is now. Her past, she insists, is the past and she’s happily settled into her duties at Kere Valla Weyr.
